Fixing Microphone Permission Issues

Follow these steps to resolve blocked or restricted microphone access when using the EnrollHere Dialer.

Chrome

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open Site Settings for the Dialer

• Navigate to the Dialer in Chrome.

• Click the lock icon or settings icon next to the URL in the address bar.

2. Check Microphone Permissions

• In the dropdown, locate the Microphone section.

• If it shows “Blocked” or “Not allowed”, permissions need to be updated.

3. Grant Microphone Access

• Click “Reset permission” or go to Site settings at the bottom of the dropdown.

• Under Permissions, find Microphone and select “Allow” from the dropdown menu.

4. Restart the Dialer Page

• Close the settings tab.

• Refresh the Dialer page by pressing Ctrl + R (Windows) or Cmd + R (Mac).

5. Test the Microphone

• Start a test call to ensure the microphone is functioning.

• If issues persist, check your input device:

Go to Chrome Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Microphone

→ Ensure the correct microphone is selected.


Safari


Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Check Safari’s Microphone Settings

• Open Safari and navigate to the EnrollHere Dialer.

• In the top menu bar, click Safari > Settings for This Website.

2. Grant Microphone Access

• In the pop-up, locate the Microphone dropdown.

• Set it to “Allow”.

📌 If it’s already set to “Ask”, switch it to “Allow” to avoid repeated prompts.

3. Review macOS System Preferences (if needed)

• Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.

• Make sure Safari is checked to allow microphone access.

4. Refresh the Page

• After updating permissions, refresh the Dialer page.

• Use Command + R or click the refresh icon.

5. Test the Microphone

• Start a test call to verify audio input is working.

• Ensure your correct microphone is selected under System Settings > Sound > Input.


Edge


Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open Site Permissions for the Dialer

• Visit the EnrollHere Dialer in Edge.

• Click the lock icon next to the URL in the address bar.

2. Check Microphone Permissions

• In the dropdown, locate Microphone.

• If it’s blocked, click Reset permissions or select Site permissions.

3. Grant Microphone Access

• Under Permissions, locate Microphone.

• Choose “Allow” from the dropdown menu.

4. Restart the Dialer Page

• Close the settings tab.

• Refresh the Dialer with Ctrl + R (Windows) or Cmd + R (Mac).

5. Test the Microphone

• Initiate a test call.

• If problems continue, go to Edge Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions > Microphone and ensure the correct device is selected.
